Steph Curry Hopes The Cavs Visitors Locker Room Still Smells Like Champagne After Last Year's NBA Finals
CSN Bay Area- Stephen Curry and the Warriors return to the arena where they kissed the Larry O’Brien Trophy and bathed in bubbly when they face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. “Obviously, walking in the locker room, it’ll be good memories,” Curry said Sunday. “Hopefully, it still smells a little bit like champagne.”
Love this move from Steph. He’s played like a cheat code for more than a year now and heard all the whispers after last season and before this one about how he and the Warriors weren’t for real. So sometimes you have to add a little bit of swagger to your game when playing against some of the league’s best. Like when LeBron said Kyrie could be the best point guard in the league soon. Just pure disrespect of the NBA MVP. So Steph hit him with the champagne line, which is especially mean since Cleveland hasn’t opened a bottle of celebratory champagne for a championship in generations. Well that and I imagine the city actually smells like a mix of urban decay and tears. Just brutal
But I wouldn’t mind the baby-faced assassin putting a little bit of wrestling heel in his game. Come at the king, you best not miss. And if LeBron keeps running his mouth, maybe the Warriors could sign Delonte West to a 10-day contract. That would dial things up to another level.
P.S. I think NBA League Pass is free for almost every cable and satellite company from 1/18-1/24. So load up on seeing out of market players like Curry, Russell Westbrook, and Kristaps Porzingis (sorry had to, haha) while you can.
